The turtle was moving on the sand to the sea when it was attacked by the crocodile.
Possessing sturdy shells but unable to cower in them like freshwater turtles, sea turtles are more likely to be at risk from fearsome predators.
This time, a crocodile surprised many people when it jumped from the sea to the sand to attack a moving turtle. This unlucky turtle encountered its number one elf while it was trying to return to the sea.
The ability to move slowly makes sea turtles unable to avoid fatal attacks from crocodiles. The predator’s fearsome jaws grip the prey to finish it off quickly.
Soon after, the crocodile released his prey back into the ocean before enjoying his meal. A bull shark later appeared in the area after being attracted to the smell of blood from the turtle.
The images were recorded on the coast of the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. The area is part of Corcovado National Park, which meets the Pacific Ocean and Dulce Bay.
